While intentions of this thread are likely good, it’s proven that the suicidal individual has to come up with these themselves, often using a safety plan with their therapist. Especially the “we will miss you” and “I love you” parts made it about you than about the individual https://twitter.com/emquits/status/1274000719972950018
The last thing that will help someone who is suicidal is guilting them into staying because of what other people in their life want. It’s along the same narrative that by dying they are being selfish. Instead we should let them be selfish, it’s their safety plan! Their reasons
It’s better to ask questions and let them answer, like “who would you miss?” instead of “who would miss you?”
The tricky thing is that this is thread also thru a Western perspective, and twitter is an internationally accessible platform so this likely doesn’t apply to many

Sorry for the mini-rant lol I often don’t talk about psychology here anymore and I miss having an account where I did that all the time before I switched to kpop exclusively
But as someone who researches suicide in my graduate program this thread made me want to share my thoughts
