Tell these people to work on something deeply creative, which involves some amount of inherent vulnerability. Ask them to work very, very long hours together, to the point where people are often lingering at work late into the night. Ply them with frequent booze.
Give a few of them ludicrous amounts of fame, social status, or money, but make sure not to encourage them to get help for any of their existing loneliness or frustration or depression or addiction problems. Teach the public to idolize the most hurt and broken of these people.
Underpay most of them and rarely hire juniors so that the youngest of them feel desperate to work and *all* of them generally just feel lucky to have a job. This in turn makes the majority of the workforce quiet and afraid. They don't want to rock the boat.
the end result is a system which is designed to hurt people and is doomed to repeat ad infinitum until some of the above conditions change.

You can change any mix of them in your workplaces. Ideally, all. But nothing will get better until some of them do, in fact, change.
