here’s what you should reconsider before thinking that haikyuu might end very soon:
1. furudate will never bait us with an abrupt ending
- it should be VERY obvious by now that their style of writing does not rely on the impact given by merely the last pages of a chapter
- they make all the panels matter, they don’t see it as 1 and 10. they see it as 1 TO 10
- haikyuu is about build up. about momentum. about how this page parallels this page. it’s a whole puzzle piece that will only be completed once you arrive at 274 or 365
2. a sudden ending falls cheap on furudate’s side (like hq ending at 400)
- if you had a triumpant research paper at hand, would you trash it in the bin? no
- eight years of rigorous writing will never place itself on a shock-focused ending
3. it’s unrealistic
- this should honestly be self-explanatory but i will strive nonetheless
- why do you think we’ve had timeskip? don’t you think furudate used that plot device because it was deemed as the most appropriate?
- same goes for abruptly ending a story during a match
- furudate did not come this far to suddenly zip it all up... it just does not make sense because we’ve been here unlocking every metaphor from every panel from chapters every week. WHICH proves that we have lived a meaningful haikyuu not for the reason of a surprise ending
