I’m just saying, they said the boxset will be out on July. And the boys hasn’t even started filming their scenes yet. And based on the intel I used to have, I doubt it will be completed before July. If what I expect is true, how can they ship the boxset with a new edit?
What I’m trying to say here, the first set of boxsets- the episodes within it will most probably be the edit that we have on current broadcast. Because if they were to include a new edit with the boys’ new scenes...it’s almost impossible.
Imagine the time taken to film all scenes. And the time taken to edit those takes. Then, the release of those specials. And you have to send that completed episodes to the production team of the boxset to be packed and shipped. It’s already 22nd June. How?
That’s why I was hesitant to purchase the boxset last time to the point I missed the dateline to order. Coz I have a feeling if they are to ship this first set of boxsets as planned, it will be the one with what they have. The edits of what we’ve seen.
I do this for work, for years. There’s a lot to do in a simple dvd. I usually use a simple menu design and even that take me time. But to customise it according to the series theme? Its contents with the special features like behind the scenes and deleted scenes...in a month?
It’s near impossible. And we’re not talking about 10 boxsets for 10 fans. God knows how many fans made the pre-orders- worldwide. To think they originally supposed to have it shipped this month. Oh well, maybe it’s Miss Corona. Poor lady. She’s always the scapegoat lately.
Alright, let’s say they had everything done. All that’s left is to include the episodes they re-edited. It will still take you time because you have to do the “burn” process to all the dvd again. Again, it’s time consuming. And you’re supposed to ship sometime in July.
I’m sorry but the production management is.....horrible. And me as a fan, I did not want to buy the boxset if the episodes are not the ones properly edited with all the scenes. I don’t want to spent on something that was an option because a pandemic happened. I’d rather wait.
I want a boxset with the completed episodes that is exactly how they planned out if the pandemic did not happened. I want to watch all 14 episodes in a screenplay arrangement that they already had in the first place because I love this series. I love these casts.
If I have to wait for the boxset just so they could properly finish filming all the scenes with all the casts coz they could not completed them due to the pandemic, I’m willing to wait and pay for a properly prepared boxset. At least I’m satisfied with the contents.
Even for most films or dramas out there, or concert dvds, they took months. Some took one year until the full dvd to come out. So I have no problem to wait if they release it after they get all scenes done and included. Because I’m a dumbass fan. I will invest on them.
Do not take your fans for granted. Just because we adore these with a little obsession, doesn’t mean we won’t be petty. We’re spending our money. We want it to be worthy. Plan your things well. Do researches. Look at other production and take notes what’s good, what’s bad. Learn.
If it was me, I’d say there will be a dvd boxset but that will only come out after we’re done filming. That way, some fans can save up. I can plan better on how the dvd would be produced. I can work on better side gifts and other things so the merch is 10/10, worthy of its price.
While getting all those settled- filming and dvd display graphics, packaging design, side gifts, limited edition contents, THEN you announce and do a pre-order to your fans. That ways you can estimate your sales. Once those are done, you MASS PRODUCE them.
Doing this, save your production costs. Save your time. Save your energy coz you get to focus one thing after another. And most importantly, you don’t ruin your fan’s expectations. Also, one dvd boxset for all.
If you want to make different versions for business sake, do it. Go ahead. Still, these steps I said earlier, will get everything done with only one mass production process.
One more thing, don’t promise things just for the sake of wanting to sound big and ambitious. Or even just to satisfy and pacify people at that moment. It’s annoying and frustrating when you ended up unable to give exactly that. It’s reckless and in business, it could kill you.
You don’t want to lose what you’ve been working so hard on. Be honest, plan well. Things will come rolling at ease without you knowing. Always prudence with what you say and do. Or there will be consequences.
They said the boxset will have a new edit not the one that had been broadcast. The boys hasn’t started filming and July is next week. You do the math. Also they said they’ll release a different set of boxset. If this was a gaming production, your board of directors will fire you.
Just...settle your filming first before everything. Really. Set priorities. I’m not throwing hate. I’m working in this industry and I’m being realistic. And I’m sad if my moots actually bought the boxset and ended up getting half-assed contents than promised, you know.
I’m supposed to sleep an hour ago, but I was thinking how I’d feel if I paid hundred bucks for something that’s worthy of only thirty. I’d be super disappointed and sad. You get what I’m saying?
Anything else you want to understand my DM is open. I’m gonna be off, try to sleep. Thanks for reading Benjamin’s Girl typical long ass of a thread. One more thing, I’d hate it if I’m right. Let’s hope they already get most things done and I’m wrong coz we work differently.
Night, everyone.
