8 years ago today I emerged from a self imposed exile as a result of filming every day at exactly the same time on a remote highland peninsular. It felt similar to being in quarantine these last few months. I couldn't travel and didn't see many friends and family for a whole year

The film charted the emotional impact of my journey. At times it was a joy to be in the same beautiful place with the same routine, at others I felt trapped and frustrated. I kept a diary of the whole year which you can read at http://staythesamefilm.com

I think the end of the film really captures what it is to come out of lock down. Like hugging mum for the first time in 3 months . . .
