Father’s Day is a beautiful day for many and I’m glad my daughter has a good father. After my parent’s divorce when I was 5, I reunited with my dad after 18 years, we drifted away after another round of empty promises, and two years later he died of an aneurism.

I used to cry as a little girl wondering why he only called every few years but then I wouldn’t hear from him. I’d go into depression.

I pray my daughter is able to know she is loved by her father. I never want her to feel fatherless and unwanted like I did. I also pray that her father remains healthy and has a long happy life so that she has that support and doesn’t mourn him during major milestones.
