[THREAD] A Peek at Harry Styles’ Bookshelf
NOVELS:
SIDDHARTHA - HERMANN HESSE
#HARRY: “A friend gave me Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse when we started travelling together. It makes a lot of sense to me. I think it's a really important book.”

NORWEGIAN WOOD - MURAKAMI
A friend gave Harry Murakami’s ‘Norwegian Wood’.
#HARRY: “It was the first book, maybe ever, where all I wanted to do all day was read this.”
THE WIND-UP BIRD CHRONICLE - MURAKAMI
#HARRY: “I had a very Murakami [25th] birthday because I ended up staying in Tokyo on my own. I had grilled fish and miso soup for breakfast, then I went to this cafe. I sat and drank tea and read [The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle] for five hours.”
#HARRY ON MURAKAMI:
“I love Murakami, He’s one of my favorites. Reading didn’t really used to be my thing. I had such a short attention span. But I was dating someone who gave me some books; I felt like I had to read them because she’d think I was a dummy if I didn’t read them.”
THE COURSE OF LOVE - ALAIN DE BOTTON
Harry said that he was currently reading “The Course of Love” by Alain De Botton on Sirius XM Hits 1 on the 6th of December 2019. De Botton believes friendship is built on vulnerability, which Harry has referenced in interviews.
MY POLICEMAN - BETHAN ROBERTS
Harry took a picture with a fan on the 5th of February 2020 with My Policeman by Bethan Roberts in his coat pocket.
My Policeman is a 2012 gay-themed novel written by Bethan Roberts. It is set in Brighton, East Sussex, England, in the 1950s.
IN WATERMELON SUGAR - RICHARD BRAUTIGAN
#HARRY: "We had this chorus/melody which was pretty repetitive and a Richard Brautigan book, ‘In Watermelon Sugar’ was on the table and I was like ‘that’ll sound cool.'"
It was allegedly gifted to him by his ex, it’s one of her favourites.

THREE WOMEN - LISA TADDEO
From Harry’s interview with The Guardian:
