Last night @realDonaldTrump endorsed Oklahoma’s state senator Jim Inhofe, so I’m going to make a thread of all the horrible things our senator has done in JUST this last year.
Jim Inhofe was one of the senators involved in the insider trading regarding the coronavirus. He sold off about $400,000 of his shares before the market crashed, after being briefed on the coronavirus. He then voted “No” on assisting people affected by COVID-19.
This March he also voted AGAINST reversing stringent regulations on student loans that make it harder for students to protect themselves.
In February he voted AGAINST restricting Trump from taking military action against Iran without congressional approval.
Also in February he voted “No” on whether to convict @realDonaldTrump on a charge of obstruction of Congress. In that same day he also voted “No” to convict Trump on a charge of abuse of power.
In January he refused to vote on the trade agreement between the US, Mexico, and Canada.
October Inhofe voted AGAINST reversing the Trump administration guidance on Affordable Care Act waivers. (Some of which included allowing states to require “work requirements” for Medicaid, and the stoppage of subsidies to insurers)
In October he also voted TO KEEP an “Environmental Protections” rule that Trump passed that: REPEALED the Clean Power Plan (established emission guidelines for states to limit CO2 emissions).
September he voted nominate Eugene Scalia to be secretary of labor (who, ironically, is known widely for his ability to dismantle worker’s rights).
Also in September he voted AGAINST OVERTURNING Trump’s emergency declaration for for border wall funding.
In July he voted AGAINST the override of Trump’s veto of a bill that would block the sale of arms to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
In June Inhofe voted AGAINST providing humanitarian aid for the US-Mexico border.
Also in June he voted AGAINST two bills that would block the sale of arms to Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
May he voted AGAINST OVERRIDING Trump’s veto of a bill that would end US military assistance to Saudi-led forces in the war in Yemen.
April he voted in favor of appointing David Bernhardt to the position of secretary of the interior (who had investigations opened on him within 4 days of his appointment).
March he voted AGAINST OVERTURNING Trump’s emergency declaration for border wall funding.
Also in March he voted AGAINST ending US military assistance to Saudi- led forces in the war in Yemen.
In February he voted to nominate Andrew Wheeler (former coal industry lobbyist) to be the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.
February he also voted to set requirements for the care of infants born after failed abortions (made to criminalize abortion doctors).
February he voted for William Barr’s nomination to be attorney general.
January he voted AGAINST funding the federal government through February 8th without money for a border wall.
January he also voted AGAINST the dissapproving of the Trump administration’s plan to lift sanctions on three Russian companies.
Inhofe has been a senator since the 1990’s, and this is his voting record of JUST the last year. He is a morally bankrupt politician that does not vote in the interest of the American people.
