Story 1: Got a call from a family friend. They followed all social distancing norms so far. Went through all #lockdown hardships even after relaxation

Except they allowed domestic help/driver after relaxation & took a few more liberties in grocery shopping

Spouse ill now. Running temperature & not eating at all. Tested +ve yesterday. Luckily not breathless

Family tried getting patient hospitalised: ARE BEING WAITLISTED IN DESIGNATED PRIVATE HOSPITALS AS THERE ARE PATIENTS AHEAD OF THEM.

We are praying for their rapid recovery.

Story 2: 85 yr old pacemaker patient of mine gets admitted with a pneumonia in a tertiary care hospital. Tests positive. Son has been going around since relaxation.

Family spoken to by a doctor but continued going around without even a mask and finally tested positive

Known contacts of family quarantined, but too many people outside to recall, I’m sure.

We all live in crowded homes/Neighborhoods/cities. Luxury of own room after age 9 is not ours. We just can’t afford to bring the virus home.

Community spread is finally here. All of us in India need to remember our training during lockdown 1.0. That was for fun and for social media. It’s for real now.

Let’s Hunker down exactly like that time now
