Someone explain to me what people RSVPing for the Tulsa rally had to do with the tiny turnout.
I get that it makes for a fun little “ha! The Trump campaign got trolled” story, but really, seriously, I do not think that’s what kept people away.

There were an infinite number of “tickets” to the event. “Oh, well, people saw that a million people had signed up and decided not to go” doesn’t make sense, either, because that was just Parscale tweeting those numbers out.
If anything, turnout was suppressed by Brad Parscale. His (likely made up) tweets about hundreds of thousands of reservations may have depressed turnout.
But people have been doing this “Let’s all register for tickets and not go” thing since 2015.

You’re giving way too much credit to people on social media and not nearly enough blame on Trump’s failure of a campaign for this one.
I dont know that they’re the reason for the outdoor stage, either. Honestly, it could have just been that Parscale assumed that there would

be a massive turnout for the first rally back.
All of that said, I have nothing but respect for our K-pop stan overlords https://www.mediamatters.org/qanon-conspiracy-theory/qanon-followers-melt-down-after-k-pop-fans-take-over-their-hashtag">https://www.mediamatters.org/qanon-con...

God, people on this site are obnoxious.
“No, you see, they are the ones responsible for the campaign thinking that they needed to build an outdoor stage!”

The campaign knew that a million goddamn people were not going to show up. Jesus Christ, people. They weren’t expecting a million people. Parscale kept tweeting out the numbers because he wanted Trump supporters to RSVP even if they weren’t planning on going.

The actual story is that the campaign used to be able to count on massive crowds to show up wherever he went, and figured that this first rally back would be a huge hit. I sincerely doubt they were making decisions based on RSVPs.
This could say several different things.
1.) More of his supporters care about COVID-19 than the campaign thought.
2.) While his support remains, the intensity is dipping.
3.) Parscale doesn’t know how to manage a campaign

I don’t think it had shit to do with people registering to go to the rally.
And once again, the “1 million” number came from Parscale. There’s no proof that there were anywhere near 1 million RSVPs. The whole thing was a sort of “if you build it, they will come” thing, but nobody came.
