We had our SSB interview in Bhopal for UES 22 (2012). A night before leaving Punjab, I asked a senior, why didn't he apply? He replied, "army mein life nahi hai." Today, I saw his post with 2k shares in a @BJP4India group, asking @narendramodi to let him fight in Ladakh. (1/4)
Another case is of a neighbour who once advised me not to apply for CDS as armed forces are "unsafe", is now lecturing on @Facebook, "shaheed hona bohat kismat ki baat hai. Ek mauka mile to dushman ko marte marte shaheed ho jaunga." (2/4)
Believe me, all those who are boasting about their bravery on @Facebook are cowards. You don't need a platform to act bravely. Bravery comes from within. It gets reflected in your actions irrespective of what profession you choose in your life. (3/4)
Obviously, killing a poor Dalit/ Muslim in a mob attack is not bravery. Its about preventing a riot. Its about fighting an impossible case in a court of law against the most powerful and so on... In short, it is about rebelling for the sake of justice. (4/4)
