Lots of our fans are chasing their tails working out how Arsenal can improve this Summer.

The answer is, they can't, not really. The fish rots from the head down and until we decide we want to win, Arsenal will continue to drift, a rudderless ship
Our absentee owner has had to get two decisions right, the manager and the recruitment team and has failed abysmally at every turn.
Wenger should've gone five years earlier, the club might never recover from his lunacy. Gazidis, Emery, Edu, Sanhelli, Vinay, perhaps Arteta..

Who is ultimately responsible for the mess that has been created by the people above? It's the owner...
Arsenal was a club famous for doing things the right way but now it is famous for being a club of amateurs, on and off the field. Rewarding failure, contracts being run down, errors leading to goals, penalties, red cards, it all boils down to one thing - unprofessionalism.
So where from here? Arsenal's best hope of a fast recovery is to remodel as a Dortmund or Atletico, i.e. have a recruitment strategy of buying the best young talent, playing them and selling them for huge profit and rebuilding again..
We aren't above this. Wenger was the blueprint for it. Anelka, Overmars, Petit... We built great team after great team with exactly this strategy. If a player won't sign a contract, sell him to the highest bidder. I don't care if you're Saka or Auba, get rid.
We can't do much about Kroenke but if he decides this is a blue print moving forward then he must rid the club of Sanhelli (and his agent led transfer deals) and put in a proper recruitment structure to support the manager, whoever he may be.
Jury it out on Arteta but if Arsenal are serious about challenging then every member of the first team squad will be for sale this Summer. Buy low, sell high. If you don't see Real Madrid sniffing after them in two or three years then don't buy them.
Is there a single member of our current squad who could play a leading role in a CL contending team? Maybe the keeper and we have two or three very talented youngsters. None of the rest. Average footballers with weak mentalities who have gotten used to losing. Sell them all.
Saliba, Guendouzi, Martinelli is a solid start. But until our highly paid bums, from Lacazette and Ozil to Mustafi and Bellerin are shipped off, nothing will change.

What do Arsenal want to be? Until that is answered, we will just be rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.
