mark was born in toronto, raised in new york and finally moved to vancouver which he considers his hometown. as a kid he wanted to become an author or an ice cream man. in elementary school he played the flute. his fifth grade teacher said he was good at french.

he has a older brother who encouraged him to pursue music. mark auditioned in sm’s global auditions by chance because his school was closed that day. he auditioned as a vocalist with the song grenade by bruno mars. mark was a trainee for four years before he debuted.

he loves working hard and being busy and views being busy as a process of refining himself. his favorite lyric he’s written is “i hope you like it where i am now” and he always looks back on his past self and how hard he’s worked to be where he is now.

mark can rap, dance and sing. he writes songs for his groups and other artists as well. mark speaks english and korean and is very eloquent in both languages. he has so much love for his fans and never misses an opportunity to show how much he appreciates them.

mark loves wearing specs and hats/beanies. he knows how to play the guitar and is always learning new songs to play. mark loves watermelon and chicken and even ate it during his birthday vlive. he doesn’t like ketchup, seafood and can’t stomach dairy products well.

mark is a very humble and down to earth person. he always shows how grateful he is to be where he is today and works hard to make sure we love everything he gives us. mark is very cute as he is confident. he has an insane stage presence but off stage is is very soft and giggly.

mark has so many little habits that range from hitting people or clapping while he laughs, patting his face, pushing his hair behind his ear or doing a silly wiggly dance with his arms. he pouts when he talks and often scrunches up his nose when he laughs.

overall mark is a very endearing person all around. at only 20 he has built such a huge name for himself and he’s only just beginning. there are so many things i could say about mark but i will leave it at this.

i’m so glad i found nct and decided to stan mark. he always brings a smile to my face and i love him so much. i’m so proud of who he is now and will continue to support who he will be in the future.
