This is going to be a whole thread...
You cannot be anti-racist and still Anti-Native. Period.
And Erasure is not only Anti-Native, it's the last stage of genocide.
Natives have the lowest life expectancy, Native men from my tribe have a life expectancy of 48! #WeAreStillHere
Native communities are dying from coronavirus at the HIGHEST rates. In rural areas! That's systemic.
The Trump admin withheld relief- No one cared. No news put pressure on it. Natives had to sue to get some of it. We're dying because of this delay, 1000s of lives... gone
Native Women are facing sexual assault at the highest rates. They are being murdered at the highest rates. On some reservations, it's 10 TIMES HIGHER.
Where is the pressure? Where is the front page news? Where is the reform?
Natives face violent victimization at the highest rates
Natives get killed by police brutality at some of highest rates. In 2016, it was 10 TIMES HIGHER.
We are definitely underreported in the stats. And since the Trump admin took over, Native stats have disappeared. Including in Washington Post's fatal force, so it's both from sides.
Natives are 19 TIMES MORE likely to not have running water.
Native communities are some of the largest food deserts.
AND Native communities face the highest amounts of food price gouging.
Think about that. We're blocked from Basic necessities like food & water
In the 1980s, 35% of Native children were taken from their parents. And guess what?
Native parents are STILL having their children take away today.
Nearly 25% of Native Women were sterilized in 60s & 70s. AND IT'S STILL HAPPENING. They are trying to eradicate our race.
Natives face the highest rates of poverty. Where is the support? MY REZ HAS AN 89% UNEMPLOYMENT RATE. Our per capita income is a QUARTER of the US average. But most people think of casinos and think we get free money, that is not only really wrong. But it's Anti-Native.
We're also erased in history. 87% of k-12 schools don't even include Natives post-1900s.
And there's too much of this to even start. But I bet you didn't know that between 1492 and 1880, 15-30% of slaves traded were Native. Did you read about that in school?
Last year there was not ONE of the Top 100 box office movies had a Native lead.
There was ONE speaking role for a Native, and she had 2 lines.
It's 2020, why hasn't there been a Native Family on Tv?
Why isn't there a Native wide release?
Where's the Native movie/tv section?
Almost every Native story is still centered on a White Lead.
Hollywood is filled with projects that people took risks on. Yet Native projects are still being excluded. Who is willing to put themselves out there and fight for our stories? And believe me. It's a fight.
Why isn't there a Native News anchor on CNN/MSNBC/etc? Why isn't Native news on the front pages? Why does the news use Data that excludes Natives?

Because, in the 1880s the govt had what they called the "Indian Problem." Their solution was to Completely Eradicate Native culture.
There has been many ways this was done through abusive boarding schools where more kids died that graduated, to relocation programs, to literally outlawing our religion and culture.

Especially STATISTICS. Look at how much Data completely erases Natives on their own land.
In the 1950s Hoover created a commission whose goal was to erase the Native identity.

And why is it so important to erase our identity? Because, if Native tribes are go away. Our land can be taken. That's what this is all about.
All this Erasure was planned. It's purposeful. It's the final stage of Genocide. And when you ignore including Natives, you're participating in it.

Pay attention. Look out for Natives in anything, you'll see how we're erased.
