What the police in the US actually do.

What do the police in #Nepal do? How much of their time is actually spent on preventing #crimes & solving those that have been committed? https://twitter.com/wesleylowery/status/1274716832998572033?s=21 https://twitter.com/WesleyLowery/status/1274716832998572033
The country--& almost half the world--is suffering from a major #pandemic & what has the police sought?

Weapon to CONTROL the population! That tells me what they appear to be really concerned about in these times of the pandemic--yeah PANDEMIC! #Nepal https://twitter.com/Dorje_sDooing/status/1256390846439739393?s=20
Has there been any
study looking at
d effectiveness of
Nepali police at
fulfilling its responsibilities?
What’s its rate of
preventing & solving
crimes? What’s d
populations’ perception
of them? Do they feel
d police enhance their
sense of safety & security
in their community?
From what I understand, Police torturing & extracting confessions from suspects is routine in #Nepal. Here's one eg where a suspect, imprisoned for 13 yrs on the basis of confession extracted through torture, was released after the verdict was overturned. https://twitter.com/Dorje_sDooing/status/1048118316945088512
'"Police still continue to rely on ‘confessions’, typically obtained by ill-treatment or coercion during interrogation, as opposed to conducting proper investigations,” says Om Prakash.'
What’s point of a police force that breaks d law to “solve crimes”?! https://www.nepalitimes.com/latest/tortures-go-unprosecuted-in-nepal-despite-laws/
