When I realized, whiles on campus, that a lot of people try to understand the word of God intellectually, reasonably or grammatically, I stopped arguing.

Your acknowledgement that the WORD OF GOD is GOD, will set the stage for you in your understanding of God. 1/9
You can't separate words from the speaker. Every man is one with his words. For instance, when a politician promises & fails, he's tagged a liar. Why not say his word is a liar?

Because the words he used in making the promise represented him. Therefore, he's the liar. 2/9
John 1:1 opens up a beautiful reality into the truth of God's word (...and the word was God).

When God spoke creation into being, He saw them and said it was good because God is good. His words produced all the goodness and beauty of His personality in creation (Genesis 1). 3/9
John takes it even higher when he says in 10:14 "And the WORD was made FLESH, and DWELT AMONG US".

Which word was made flesh? The word in John 1:1 that he says was God (...and the Word was God).

And which word is this, the very word that created in Genesis 1. 4/9
The word that was made flesh that dwelt among men was Jesus. God's word (Jesus) is God because Jesus is God's word. Therefore the word (Jesus) can't be separated from God.

If the word of God is God and Jesus is the word, why should Jesus be separate from God? 5/9
Jesus knew He wasn't separate from the Father so He says, "I & my Father are one (John 10:30)".

The Jews knew what He meant so they picked up stones to kill Him. "John 10:33 ...but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, MAKEST THYSELF GOD"

Jesus essentially... 6/9
was saying, "I AM GOD" and they called it blasphemy.

Jesus knew the words of the Father isn't separated from Him and He also knew He was the word so He boldly declares, I AM GOD!

No wonder he was shocked when Philip asked to be shown the Father. In His shock He asked... 7/9
John 14:9 ...Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? HE THAT HATH SEEN ME (the word made flesh) HATH SEEN THE FATHER; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Same way He's shocked today when we try to know God outside of the word. 8/9
Prayer has its place, fasting has its place but to know the Father (God), you must know His Word (Jesus) & to know His Word, you must study His Word.

In a Revelation John saw "And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called THE WORD OF GOD" (19:13). 9/9
It's always acceptable to say THE WORD OF GOD IS GOD but the very moment you say JESUS IS GOD, we pick up stones because it's blasphemy; Yet we know Jesus is the word made flesh.

It's the studying of the Word that helps to rightly divide the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). End!
