if you believe feminism shouldn't have a monopoly on women's rights, that people should advocate for women's rights without feminism, then why label everything related to women that happens to not suit your whims as "feminist"?
by doing so, you're reinforcing the idea that anything tangentially related to women's rights is inherently feminist and are a part of the problem. words have meaning. you can't just arbitrarily decide what the definitions are.
if feminism is whatever you want it to mean, then why the immediate aversion to anyone that labels themself as feminist? surely you can't be sure of their positions and values until they describe them to you.
and yes, i understand there are multiple waves of feminism & that feminists identify with different ones. which is one of the reasons i 1) don't label myself as feminist even if my views may overlap at times, 2) don't throw the word around and often specify which type when in use
and 3) don't assume what a feminist's viewpoints are simply because they refer to themself as one.
