Food for thought:
FL Covid cases for today (June 19th) are at 3,822. That is equivalent to 1/5620th of the total population. We are largely still focused on reopening, with a few areas pausing the reopening rollout.

On March 20th, New York started aggressively shutting down all non-essentials. The case count for that day was 3052, or 1/6373rd of the total population. We do know at that time, there was a testing bottleneck, so the situation was likely worse than our counts were telling us.
However, we definitely have more vulnerable people here in FL. And I dont just mean the elderly in general. For example, did you know that a lot of people, young and old, with severe respiratory issues move to FL because cold winters exacerbate their respiratory issues?
We have now arrived at, or will soon be approaching, where New York was in mid-March. We dont appear to be considering taking strong risk-reduction measures, barring some masks. If real measures aren't taken soon, FL risks being worse off than New York was in April.
