I don’t think anyone ever called @JColeNC a misogynist nor what he did misogynistic lol. It would’ve been misogynistic for him to tread lightly in his music just because she’s a womxn when he’s came with the same energy in music when addressing everyone else. That’s misogynistic https://twitter.com/bdottm/status/1273696673282260992
He acknowledged, praised, and offered advice. From the Black Womxn I spoke with about this song the trigger word for them was “Tone” and we all know why it’s triggering so please don’t come asking “hOw iS AdDresSinG a BlAcK wOmXn’S ToNe tRigGeRing” not today G not today.
Also to clarify for people that believe he called her “Queen Tone” he didn’t. He said “Queen’s Tone” @Genius get that Jawn right for me. But anywho...
Y’all ever been in school and a rumor was spread about you? And all day long you hearing people talk about you and people coming up to you and you’re just tired annoyed and pissed. You eventually saying “If another person brings me up and says something about me I’m snapping”
Next thing you know someone says something that you THINK is relating to what you’re pissed about and you snap. You jump the gun and you snap. Right, wrong, or indifferent... you snap. And it may have been the wrong person to snap on but in the moment you don’t care you’re tired
That is where our Black Womxn are as we speak. They fucking tired and exhausted of us and our shit. They tired of holding it down but not being held. Tired of being silenced or being told how to do something. They saying “If another Black Man speaks on Black Woman we snappin”
J Cole just happened to be the next Black Man to address a Black Womxn’s tone. Not in the waypeople think but nonetheless it was her tone. And everyone and I mean everyone jumped the gun which is totally understandable.
Do I believe @JColeNC was trying to silence @noname? Hell no, I bet he wants her to say it louder for the people in the back. I believe he was giving her some advice that could take her movement to the next level. I mean could it not? Let’s be real.
If you played sports you should know this how true it is. When trying to get someone to understand how to do something. You CANT use the same method for every person... you can’t. Some people you can grill and some you gotta take a different route. Everyone is different.
@JColeNC did nothing wrong. He just never thought about how he included a trigger word during a very sensitive and fragile time. If you take out ”Queen’s Tone” and switch it with “Queen’s approach” we wouldn’t even be in this predicament right now.
If I’m Cole I ain’t walking shit back either tbh. I believe @noname sees what he is saying and they probably did end up having a phone conversation or something. The man said he loves and honors her and I feel it was genuinely said.
All in all he remained true to himself and did things how he has ALWAYS did things... through his music and through action. Not tweets, not speeches, none of that. We got other people who are more qualified to do that. We need @JColeNC to continue what he is doing.
He should continue to use his music as his Voice. Let’s not forget he has made probably the most Powerful song “Be Free” in the past two decades tbh... on top of that it wasn’t a song he profited from with Streaming Service last time I checked it ain’t on Apple,Spotify,ETC.
That’s what we should want from @JColeNC. For him to Keep making music from the heart that resonates to millions cause his platform is music. Period. And keep getting active out in the streets showing the world that just cause someone famous don’t mean they can’t get active.
Y’all expect too much from the celebrities when you should only expect them to breathe and be human and just be them. I love @noname just like everyone and she is the leader that we need but not cause she’s a womxn. Not cause she’s a black womxn.
It’s cause @noname has displayed and showed that she is willing to learn and grow and educate. She has showed that she is qualified. Her being a black womxn just makes that shit that much better but we’re not asking for her to help just cause she’s a black womxn.
Cole ain’t just address her cause she’s a Black Womxn. He addressed her cause she’s a leader. And btw Song 33 was the best 60 sec song over heard in a long time lol very powerful. Cole apparently thought it was too, hence the retweet.
I love Black Womxn I love Black People I love being Black 🖤
