Last night, the Houston Outlaws sent a birthday message to one of our family members, @vibinwithviolet. On that message, we're ashamed to say that Violet's dead name was included. There is no excuse for something like this to have happened and we own full responsibility for it.
As a company, we are in full support of the LGBTQIA+ community. We work alongside people of all different sexualities and gender identities. This would not be an acceptable mistake for any one of them, and certainly not for @vibinwithviolet.
. @vibinwithviolet is a member of the Outlaws family, and it breaks our hearts to have hurt our family. Violet, we apologize for what happened and want to assure you nothing like that will ever happen again.
We would also like to apologize to the trans and non-binary communities, for whom the issue of dead-naming is both prevalent and painful. @vibinwithviolet, you're an important member of our family and we're so sorry that we hurt you. We will not make this mistake again.
You can follow @Outlaws.
