2020 a tale of duality. Thread.
Recent global events have displayed a dual evolution of what is intended by "normality".

A point first: duality is not the same thing as symmetricality in the following sense (since I am using math language out of a precisely define context)
2/13
For this thread I will limit the difference between duality and symmetricality to this point: the dual of the dual is not the original, which is not the case when you deal with symmetricality. Duality is not necessarily involutive.

Let's us crawl through examples
3/13
The wokeism exhibits dual symbolism than the one of Christianity:
1- The kneeling is a reminder of an act of torture. But dually to the Crucifix it is the perpetrator, not the victim, of the torture that is chosen as symbol.

2- The feet washing
4/13
In the gospels it is Jesus who washes the feet of his apostles. Here, we have the devotees that wash the feet of the organizers.

3- The dialectic evil twins: "words are violence" and "riots are a way to express feelings/ideas", nice way to engineer vicious circle btw,
5/13
When you put those twins together along with the new: "silence implies consent" you get how dualism is not symmetry (you can also think at this phrase in other contexts to realize that, eg

4- Burning half of America in the name of "Justice" is the dual of due process. Whatever our opinions on the G. Floyd tragedy, the perpetrator needs to be judged following the rules. It is now almost impossible for such a trial to deliver a sentence other than guilty.
7/13
I want to be Cristal clear here: Derek Chauvin needs to be judged for his actions that are appalling. How these actions will be qualified should be examined very closely. Now imagine there are circumstances that requalify to murder at 3rd degree or something else.
8/13
The very fact that he would not get the maximal penalty would certainly lead to new rounds of riots with many loss of properties and maybe lives. Therefore it is most probable that no jury on earth would take this chance. The mob rule is ruling inside the court house.
9/13
Suffice it to say that the mob rule is one of the motives of the riots in the first place. Once again we see another duality at play.
10/13
5 - New so called antiracism (or Antifa for that matter) are only talking about race all along the day. They are obsessed by a thing that does not exist, or that is not relevant, from their very credo. Every social phenomenon has to be related to racism.
11/13
6 - The dualism between the ancient use of the N word and today's use of "white" (as in old white males etc.). Before not being purely white was N and today it feels like it is inverted. Any modicum of power/social influence will make you "white".
12/13
The problem of duality is that it hijacks our usial way of thinking: normally a double négation equals an affirmation. A thing cannot be it's opposite etc.

It is no longer true with duality. The dual of "not knowing" is not "knowing that no" but is still "not knowing".
13/13
Therefore you can have self-dualism.

That is known as the horseshoe theory in politics for instance.

I need to think more about that.
