I know there is a lot of pressure/hope of full time in school ASAP with full classses. I don’t think (even if we can) 11th of Aug is right though

I would like a phased return (a week or so) to have small numbers so we can talk about what’s happening and support mental health https://twitter.com/eisunion/status/1273939209234022400
I want, as soon as is right, for us to all be together again. I miss our students a lot! The resumption of teaching modern studies from day one isn’t on my mind.

My biggest worry is students feeling safe and supported to come back to a place they feel they belong to
My thoughts for day one are about chatting together, answering each other’s questions, being reflective, finding out who needs more support 2 get through this, making sure there is a sense of belonging and togetherness.

That’s not happening in a full class of 30 in 50 minutes.
I can’t wait to meet the new first year, but throwing them all in as a big group of 30 is not (IMO) the best way for them to transition. More now than ever it needs to be personal and in smaller groups so we really get to know them fast!

And for them to know we see each of them
Honestly I want so much to be back, with all my students in one place together, and I hope it will be quick!

But in full time - not a priority for me.

Supported, safe, included and recognised! That 100% is.
With and for any who have an academic worry - I have always been there and always will.

Before school, interval, lunch time and after I am happy to help for those who need it. And when we can go back to normal I will support it.

But my first worry is well-being then studies.
1. Safe, Supported, Included, Recognised. (Well-being)

2. Modern Studies

It goes in that order.
