Here's a thread on why your Black employees don't want to talk race with you at work. Enjoy.

First off- it's like picking at a wound when you haven't created the space for them to heal & all you have is a lil bandaid for an open heart surgery.

Not even the melanated bandaid.
If they do say something, will they be called aggressive or feisty? Or if they don't say something, will they be called distant, cold, or not a team player?

It can feel like a lose lose situation. Also, what's the point of speaking up if they believe nothing will change?
They are tired and exhausted. One dealing with all the racial trauma is literally overbearing. We get on social and see men/women that could be our brother, uncle, sister, friend, etc. violent death displayed on repeat for the world to see.

Shit is tiring fam.
And we've been dealing with racism all whole lives. It's not new to us. It's a conversation we discuss at the dinner table. So now that you're ready to talk about it, feels a bit selfish and self-centering.
The conversation is not uncomfortable for Black people, it is uncomfortable for you. Saying the words racism or Black or anti-blackness, shouldn't be so hard to say out loud. Stop tip toeing in the conversation.
Biggest tip if you want to talk about it, don't center yourself in the conversation.
