appreciation post (thread) for my father:
he had a "difficult childhood", he grew up with various relatives, some of who were abusive. joined tudm and served his country for 26 YEARS, and retiring was a difficult decision for him to make.

ultimately i think he gave up flying his true love, the nuri, to give my siblings and i more options in terms of tertiary education. he retired when my brother was 17. he now spends 20/30 days a month across the peninsular, working as an offshore pilot.
i have never known a less selfish or more loving person. he's stubborn and strict, but he can be reasoned with (considering i had to let him know that i was starting bc pills this year lol) and all the hard work he's done has either been for his country or his family.
