A thread of some black history in OSU wrestling in honor of #JUNETEENTH2020

Joe James was the first black #okstate wrestler and first black Big 8 Champion. He also became just the second black wrestler ever to win an NCAA title in 1964.
Bobby Douglas was the first black state champion in Ohio before coming to #okstate then became the first black Olympic wrestler in 1964. In 1988 he became the first African American to coach a wrestling team to an NCAA title at Arizona State.
Jimmy Jackson became one of the black wrestlers to win three NCAA titles alongside Lee Kemp in 1978
In 1988 Kenny Monday became the first black wrestler ever to win an Olympic Gold Medal when he defeated the Soviet Union's defending World Champ Adlan Varayev
Daniel Cormier became the first black two-division UFC champ in 2018 when he knocked out Stipe Miocic
