Our letter to @10DowningStreet @BorisJohnson outlining our opposition to any move to rolling back trans rights in the UK and urging the govt to follow its own consultation results and reform the Gender Recognition Act.
Trans rights in the UK are under attack. The Sunday Times has reported the government intends to go against the wishes of 70% of responses to its consultation on reforming the Gender Recognition Act and not remove the barriers to trans people being recognised as who they are.
We’re worried that if the government is going against what the public want on this is issue, that it’s because they have been listening to anti-trans organisations who stoke fears and prejudices without any evidence to back their claims.
We know that stopping reforms of the Gender Recognition Act is not all that these groups want. They want to go further and deny trans people access to basic public accommodations such as toilets and changing rooms.
We must show the government that they do not have the support of the public in rolling back trans rights.

We must show the government that they must stand up for trans people and against bigotry and prejudice.

But we don't have much time.
We need you to write to the Prime Minister Boris Johnston and your own MP and tell them that trans people are important to you and that trans people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. It will only take a few minutes.
You can write to the Prime Minister at https://email.number10.gov.uk  and you can contact your MP by going to https://www.writetothem.com/

Don't put it off. Do it now. A few minutes of your time can make all the difference in the world.
You can follow @TRPNI.
