Market concentration and the addition of services to supermarkets has lead to many poor communities becoming food deserts. What will happen when food companies decide certain areas aren't profitable enough to sell food? We are seeing just that. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5588682/
Research on what type of impact opening supermarkets has on unhealthy consumer trends inside food deserts shows that simply opening a supermarket won't undo years of misinformed consumerism. Changes have to coincide with education.
