In 2010 I quit working in politics, totally shifted careers and moved across the country because I couldn’t stand working or voting for politicians I didn’t 100% believe in.

Ten years later I’m settling for voting for the guy who didn’t tell the public to “inject disinfectant”.

Like I uprooted my entire life because morally I could not stomach helping elevate to public office someone I only 75% agreed with on policy.

It took ten years to go from that to basically voting for whichever candidate wants to dehumanize the fewest people.

My standards went from “I’d rather be an accountant than work for a politician I don’t deeply believe in” to “which one sexually assaulted fewer women”.
