THREAD: There are a few bad actors that need to be called out in these groups. 1) Love my progressive White women in the audience but it’s not acceptable how Blacks with differing opinions are treated. Jasmine and i (Black woman) did not deserve your lecture on our BLACKNESS.

2) The gentleman who spoke in support of additional funding to police had every right to voice his opinion. To drown him out because you disagree cheapens your cause.

3) Fine. You wanted a Black woman to chair the meeting in absence of David Mann. But why did folks in the audience who claim we should “respect Black voices” allow for Councilwoman Kearney and Jasmine to be disrespected?

4) Councilmember Mann is a deliberative lawmaker and takes seriously his role as a decision maker. Although I disagree with his decision to end the meeting abruptly, there is NO WAY he should’ve been treated as poorly as he was yesterday.

5) Speaking of meeting, if you are going to be that damn loud and boisterous at least have the facts and KNOW THE PROCESS! Folks screaming at Council members and we have yet to submit our budget motions!

6) I have a cousin who lives with mental illness and cognitive issues that is often seen at these protest. He’s a distant cousin. I wish you all would stop trying to use him against me. You’re pathetic.

7) I am fed up with a few self proclaimed progressive, rude, loud white women trying to lecture a Black man (me) about Black issues. Blacks with differing opinions are still BLACK. My voice MATTERS. Black folk are not a monolithic group in case you forgot.
