Back in July 2019 I started writing about #LUFC, publishing a piece after every game this season. As football returns, I thought I’d do a little rundown my favourites pieces so far. THREAD

I hate writing after we lose but it turns out, looking back, that most of my favourite pieces have been written after defeats. Here I imagine the scene in Fulham’s dressing room after they fluked a win around Christmas-time #LUFC https://medium.com/a-screaming-comes-across-the-sky/craven-cottage-8c7f361b679d
Arsenal. Some of my favourite lines in this one, and definitely my favourite payoff:

‘No-one likes a Pig turning up and rolling all over the flowerbed.

Except the Pig.

Except the swollen, delirious, disgusting, oblivious Pig.’

Wigan. I think i was starting to go a little insane by this point. It’s funny, looking back, how stressed I was about everything. Here I imagine Luke Ayling starring in his very own Groundhog Day #LUFC https://medium.com/a-screaming-comes-across-the-sky/groundhog-day-c1e340d2e66e
I was *definitely* insane by Nottingham Forest away, which I watched in the bar of a bowling alley. The nadir of the season so far, and I *hated* writing this, but I really like it now. https://medium.com/a-screaming-comes-across-the-sky/bowling-for-bielsa-db24b05dcc19
A Screaming Stopped. A little transition piece I wrote when it looked like football might not come back. But it’s back on Sunday. Let’s do this. LETS FUCKING GO #LUFC https://medium.com/a-screaming-comes-across-the-sky/a-screaming-stopped-dca6fe76854d
If you've enjoyed any of these, or enjoyed any of my pieces at the time, and want to give this thread a retweet, I'd really appreciate it. I spend far too long writing this stuff so it's nice when it gets a wide audience.
