<outrage at the behaviour of those who disagree with my existing view, implying they are all abusive and cannot be reasoned with, much tutting and shaking of head>

So it looks like you can't even ask a civil question about <contentious subject> on here without <opponents> being abusive to you. No wonder <reiteration, finally in honest and blunt terms, of firmly held view>. It's clear that <opponents> are just not prepared to listen. Sad.
