Interesting thread. I am going to write a thread about NHS Providers. I like @ChrisCEOHopson He speaks out, and he's very open and sincere.
But, he is deluded. A condition which is dangerous in people who have significant power.

@ChrisCEOHopson doesn't see how his members have contributed to the mess we are in. He doesn't acknowledge the inconsistencies between a self image of "patients first" and his role lobbying for large acute sector organisations. He doesn't get how they have hijacked the system.
The Acute System has used its power over the last few years to build up more influence, and justified it as being in the interests of the public.
The public has been shafted.
The investment in NHS has been largely siphoned off for the benefit of hospitals.
Where @ChrisCEOHopson and others like him are blameworthy is their unwillingness to buck the incentives in order to change the system for the well being of patients. How many times do you hear hospitals blame social care, blame GPs, blame patient expectations.
Its bigotry.
I am old enough now, that I don't confuse attractive policy proposals with changes to the system as a whole. Solving our health system problems means altering the allocation of power. In effect, breaking down the nature of it, who possesses it & how it is wielded.
Power in the NHS is exercised via the big institutions. And look where we are. In a rigged system, where patients are at the bottom of the value chain.
