Borders are stupid and nationalism is a poison that kills everything around it. My rant. 1/n

I live in Lalitpur. Imagine someone coming and deciding Lalitpur and kathmandu are no longer in a same country and are two separate countries. There are so many people I know are married between two cities. 2/n

Imagine people deciding that you are traitor to Lalitpur if you go beyond the border to kathmandu and sympathise to anyone in kathmandu. 3/n

The people that are in Pokhara, that don’t know the history between kathmandu and lalitpur judging you for wanting to meet your family in kathmandu and screaming bloody murder to someone that might think may be we should not be that hostile to kathmandu. 4/n

Imagine you marrying into kathmandu’s family and people in Pokhara constantly reminding you that your actual human relations are nothing compared to Pokhara’s national pride. Fuck your relations and just choose a side and every time someones asks you have to say you hate ktm. 5/n

I feel the same when people from kathmandu for judging people in terai. 6/n

Borders are arbitrary lines created by some ruler somewhere for whatever reason. But human relations have been there before borders, passports and visas. 7/n

There are so many examples of borders not making any sense it baffles me that people are basing their pride in these arbitrary lines.
