Last week @Eusebius announced that he would be leaving @Radio702 to pursue other interests. As those who follow him would know, he has quite a wide range of interests. That's one part.

What we also know is that bridges are few and fragile in the SA media landscape...
The relevance of that is simply that everyone knows each other and all need to occasionally park their individual hostilities to work together. Quite importantly, for organizations that work and depend on the benevolence of audience sentiment, being bitchy does not help much.
Which is why the Tweet by @Radio702 implying that McKaiser had been let go in response to audience sentiment was quite important. Who were the people sampled? What were they asked? What was the nature of the listener feedback that led to the non-renewal of the contract?
Being a news entity, you'd expect @Radio702 to exhibit some semblance of appreciation of how to communicate - which didn't happen. So then we ended with the diplomatic version from McKaiser being compared to the petty diatribe from the station. If only it was that simple... I
It now turns out that the original statements that were due to be issued are quite different from what we eventually heard. By its conduct, @Radio702 has done a lot in positioning McKaiser as a fired incompetent rather than someone seeking to move on. Why did they do this?
