finnish healthcare: how about we take this special trans healthcare places AWAY and just leave you to the mercy of your local health centre?

Important notice: it’s not just trans people who have protested this. Finland has got notice from YK’s CEDAW-committee in _2012_ stating that Finland should improve their laws quickly to not require infertility to match persons gender mark to their gender.

Finnish YK’s anti torture committee hearing in november _2015_ noted that trans law should be changed. Committee stated thag forcing people through medical precision and psychological valuations in order to get treated and recognited as their gender is similar to torture.

again, nothing has changed.

In 2015, EU’s counsels demanded that EU countries respect and proteytrans peoples rights not to be discriminated agains and base the process on self-determination and it to be quick, transparent and accessible procedures to recognise once juridical gender.

again, nothing.

In 2017 EUs committee made an announcement that all should stop requiring infertility to recognise their gender.

It’s still in the law today.

Finland was told multiple times by YK in 2017 to fix their laws regarding trans people. Several countries recommended that Finland changes the laws, especially the part that requires infertility to get their gender recognition.

International human right organisation have repeatedly reminded us that our current law violates human rights.

Finland dismissed the demands without further explanation.

In the same time Finnish has strong leftist government, that won’t address these laws cause they see these as matters that create too much debate between the parties.

It seems that in Finland, trans rights aren’t human rights after all.

This will only lead into more mental illnesses, suicides and hopelessness in the already overburdened trans community.
