ACCESSIBILITY at conventions suck!

It keeps a lot of disabled and chronically ill people from being able to enjoy themselves or even go at all. Many of us struggle and make suggestions.

If we have to ask for basic accessibility, you've already FAILED as an organization.
Stop expecting disabled and chronically ill people to ask for BASIC ACCOMODATIONS. They should simply be available! Sure there's more complex needs, at that point. Ensure you have a disabled person on your team that can better help them! Medical staff are often the most ABLEIST!!
Don't expect disabled people to HAVE ask for help. You have to foster an environment that makes it safe for us to ask. Again we should have to ask for the basic accomodations in the first place. Train your volunteers and staff on disability issues and accessibility.
ACCESSIBILITY at cons aren't "special priviledges", they're necessary so disabled and chronically ill people can enjoy conventions like any other person. We deserve to be able to enjoy conventions safely and without hurting ourselves. We shouldn't be attacked for asking for help.
Many cosplayers have INVISIBLE illnesses and we shouldn't be judged by fellow cosplayers, con staff or volunteers or anyone.

Don't assume you understand our conditions. We don't have to divulge our health issues. Just accomodate us based on our need. Don't be judgemental.
Those with health issues in the cosplay community are as much as part of the community as anyone else. A disabled cosplayer isn't any lesser.

We shouldn't be talked down to. We're human being. And we know exactly what help we need and people need to F*CKING listen for once.
It's frustrating how much people don't listen to marginalized groups speaking up.

They're like "Stop being so angry". And it's like Susan, I just want to live & enjoy things like any other person. Without your judgemental ass sh*t talking me because I want the bare minimum.
Also I would happily consult with cons as long as I'm respected as a human being.

Accessibility doesn't have to be expensive. It's often using the resources you already have to create an environment that inclusive to those with health issues. It's about removing barriers.
