i can't believe i have to say goodbye to this little guy tomorrow. i'm gonna miss his dumb little snaggle-toothed face so much

let's have a thread of Naranjito facts that i can keep adding to.

1. he drools when he's happy. so much drool. he likes to lay on you and purr and drool all over your arm. he likes to put his head on a warm laptop and leave a puddle of drool on it.

2. he likes to loudly serenade his stuffed turtles and carry them around. the original toy was a walrus that @flooey brought home and he kept stealing it off shelves until we decided it was his. when he misses you he will bring turtles and leave them by the door.

3. he did once have two eyes! he had a long-running eye infection when he was pretty young, eventually they took the eyeball out and turned out he had EYEBALL CANCER. what a trooper! i have a lot of pics of him where you can see his eyes are different colors.

4. beds, how do they work?

5. he loves shoes. he loves to cuddle them and stick his head in them. it just makes him really happy for some reason. i honestly should have better pictures of this, maybe i will find more later

6. he adopted me when i lived in NYC. three days in a row he walked right up to me and asked for pets and meowed at me and tried to follow me. "human, i am tired of being a street cat, i want to live in a house now." on the third day i took him home.

7. i was living in Inwood at the time, a predominately Dominican neighborhood, so a Spanish name seemed to be called for. Naranjito means "little orange boy".

8. this is another one that it's hard to get a photo of, but he used to attack his own back legs a lot. he would be rolling around kicking himself in the face and trying to bite his own feet. i dunno maybe he was malnourished as a kitten, i really have no explanation

10. when i started dating @dddagradi, Naran fell in love with him too. they bonded so hard that i realized if we ever broke up, we would split up the cats so they could stay together. i was Naran's secondary, backup human

11. he loves laptops. he prefers to be on the left side with his face where the warmz come out. he will shove into your lap and start nudging the laptop out gradually until he is in your lap and it's not. in fact he did it just now to help me copy-edit this thread
