my dad told me he was in town a few weeks ago and he said a guy a came up to him and asked "yo yous Shai father right?" naturally my dad said yes and the guy proceeds to tell him how much he loves my music and how he bought my albums online ( mainly AAO )

So my dad is strictly Roots music he ain't a fan of hip hop. so whenever I play music for him he always compares how the lyrics flow to the beats to reggae and I always have to explain how rapping is a bit more complex in pockets and I would end up cutting to convo short.

so God Speed came and went and so did AAO and he still ain't hear these albums cause I never played them for him cause I know he wouldn't like them. so he called me a few days ago and told me some guy randomly approach him about my music being online and for sale xyz

and my dad asks how can he buy the album. obviously, I not gonna make my dad buy anything that I'm selling so I told him I gonna email the albums and I warned him he won't like them cause the subject matter dark, you gonna learn things about me ya didn't know and its raw hip hop

He said he still wanna hear them cause its been years since he heard my music ( to give you an idea the last song he heard was either ASC or Jungle ) so I sent the albums to him and this nigga blue thick me for a few days. so I hay soo cooling it and my phone ring its my dad

man call me and was like " Shai I ain't gonna lie these albums were heavy to listen to" and quote lyrics from Cross me, and said the subject matter in the music is very thick and its a huge message to take in and he genuinely loves the music. and like everyone else ....

he likes designer belt lmao. the man even said he wasn't expecting the music to sound this hard and he likes majority of the songs. and then he asked who mixed and made the beats. when i told him i did everything this nigga ain't believe that i did it all in my room

Every day we still getting feedback and love for AAO and i know it been a while since we dropped music, I am just as frustrated as some. but I really am glad people are enjoying the music and its getting radio play.

IDK man I'm sorry but hearing my dad saying he likes my music and quoting the lyric, even wanna ask me about the meaning behind some of the songs means a lot to me. niggas can't really tell me shit now tbh lmao my dad not liking my shit was low-key my biggest fear.
