Okay, I know I might get heat for this, but thank god SOMEONE else has the same feelings I do about Tower of God.

Tower of God has an absolute bonkers plot with SO MANY factors that aren't fleshed out that it doesn't make much sense past the surface level.

It is a Halloween candy variety pack of characters, many I love hence my stubborn determination to read these chapters.

But...I can't do Bam. He's slightly better 300+ chapters in but that isn't much of a compliment.

ToG did everything in its power to make me not like Rachel. I don't, but not because of what she did to Bam. He was/is uncomfortably possessive, and later on lashes out about it.

I don't like Rachel because, like Bam, she doesn't do anything and relies on others. The only difference is Bam is OP for a mysterious reason.

And Rachel relies on others for muaha selfish evil manipulation vs. Bam's better selfish desire to save LITERALLY EVERYONE.

I feel like there was potential for something more, but Rachel as a villain just got boiled down to jealousy and an inferiority complex.

Honestly, a lot of ToG's character conflicts might be solved if they sat and TALKED IN A ROOM FOR MORE THAN TWO MINUTES.

Meanwhile, Khun also is becoming overly-dependent on Bam but it weirdly makes sense based on the little info from his backstory we get.

We have a menagerie of compelling characters that get seconds in the spotlight to support Bam and it gives me whiplash.

The group just gets bigger with every arc, and as soon as I adjust and the new characters grow on me, they up and leave for reasons and then there is a time skip for training.

Although, thank you ToG for not making me sit through 10 training arcs with Bam.

Look, if you love it, no shame at all. I am still reading it! However, I am scared the more active ToG fanbase is going to drag me to The Floor of Death for this thread.

I also think it is important that it is supported, and hope for more WEBTOON anime past this initial lineup.

But the hype has been so vast, I've been nervous to make any sort of comment that wasn't 100% praise. It was really fun to read @LossThief and @Liuwdere use their great humor to break it down, and hear that I am actually not alone in my feelings about this series.
