They COUNTED 350,000 cyclists during which last year there were 60,000 vehicles with an estimate of 25% using the park as a bypass. Let's generously assume 4 people per car.

That's 180,000 people arriving in the park by car vs 350,000 people year arriving by bike.

Why wouldn't you open your business to service that 100% increase in visitor traffic?

Instead, Stanley Park businesses are threatening to go to court ... to reduce their potential audience?

Are you kidding me?
The thing that's overlooked in all the rhetoric here is that more people are biking to the park -- and they include many people who wouldn't ride there before! Families and seniors. Novice cyclists.

The park is more park-like right now and "servicing" more people than before!
So why is there a such a loud crowd complaining? And why would they oppose opening a single vehicle lane to further accommodate those who can't walk/roll/bike there?

There seems to be no use of logic here, or even good business sense.

Confounding.
