I don’t know who this guy is but I’ve had him blocked for a while. This thread is embarrassing. They actually think they can outsmart us by playing dumb and we won’t be able to tell they’re asking those questions in bad faith.

I’ve heard people ask these kind of questions before, pretending to be “slow” (his word) and genuinely trying to understand, but obviously just smugly trying to derail the whole thing because they think they’re intellectually superior.

There’s no hope for people like this. You spot them and you deal with them quickly and try to give them as little time as possible. What’s sad is that while these techniques don’t fool anyone, they will make derail conversations and waste everyone’s time.

What’s disturbing is how many people like this thread and agree with this guy. And how many people will actually put this into practice when others are trying to have conversations about racism. Despite the fact that they’ll be outing themselves as racists. They have no shame.

Racists like to pretend that being called racist is a devastating blow, something that gets you “cancelled” and threatens your career. The reality is they’re not afraid of being seen as racist, otherwise they’d be keeping their fucking mouths shut.
