The Charters of Freedom and the Emancipation Proclamation are documents respected throughout the world, but more importantly they’re a beacon of hope that calls all to keep our Nation the land of the free. : @FLOTUS #JUNETEENTH2020

Freedom for all was an ideal that became a reality with the passage of the 13th, 15th, & 19th amendments by abolishing slavery, declaring the right for African American men to vote, and then expanding that same right to women. : @FLOTUS #JUNETEENTH2020

The documents I saw this morning started the greatest ongoing experiment in human history. They outlined a path to freedom for all men, and today I’m a free man, a doctor, and a proud public servant for the greatest country in the world. : @FLOTUS #JUNETEENTH2020
