The same Kenyans who whine to the Education CS about lack of internet for e-learning are the same Kenyans who agree with the same CS that children get pregnant because of access to internet.

If Kenyan adults think like this, then they are the problem.
But also, every time this government wants to avoid socio-political conversations, suddenly talk in sex and blaming women trends. Mara DCI lecturing parents with "ifikie wazazi," mara women MPs on benefits of polygamy. Now we're told it's porn making underage girls pregnant.
What is particularly schizophrenic is the use of the urban, upper class model of homes as the reason for teenage pregnancies among families that can't afford that lifestyle. We're told the problem is kids with smart phones and 24hr Wi-Fi at home.

Look who has internet in Kenya.
It's not a coincidence that yet again, the Kenyan public mind has been shifted to sex when people are talking of racism, the dominance of Kenya's economy by families of colonial collaborators and the possibility of felling statues and renaming our landmarks.
The benefit of sexualizing public conversations is that
1. It's intensely distracting
2. it individualizes social problems
3. It makes blaming the victim and blaming THE YOUTH so easy.
4. It moralises political problems
The problem of Kenya seems to be this very sad reality:

Kenya is a land of no adults.

There are no adults to say the kids should be taught in a healthy school system.

No adults to say that we need an economy that provides our young people with dignifying work.
No adults to call our current ruling elite literal cannibals, eating the futures of our children with dumbed down education and paralyzing debt

This is a sign of decadence and failure of the current adult generations to think, be human, and be civilized.
So I'm not going to engage in this stupid, escapist porn conversation any more. Just the way I decided I wasn't going to engage in the equally pornographic soap opera of politicians, where we talk of Jubilee but we can't discuss CBC or public debt, or the predators of our kids
Mutemi was arrested for talking about chiefs who collaborated with colonialists, impregnated several women and spawned generations of those who now populate the Kenyan corridors of state power, but here we are being invited to insult our teenagers who have no education or safety.
This is the conversation I'm interested in. I'm not going to indulge in this narcisstic, cannibalistic and decadent conversation, ironically from none less than the CS of education, any more. https://twitter.com/MutemiWaKiama/status/1273618889423847425?s=19
