1. Just confirmed that seven kids tested positive for C19 at Dorothy Kirby Center. An LA County Probation juvenile facility that claims to provide treatment to kids diagnosed with mental illness.

2. Also, there’s another positive test at Central Juvenile Hall and *20* kids in quarantine at the juvenile hall in Sylmar. Last month, the probation department assured the court and the public that kids in their care and were safe.

3. If this happened in your kid’s school or summer camp where this happened, what would you do? If your kid was in one or these facilities right now, what would you do?

4. As my colleague @Brooke_S_Harris notes:

“Of note: parents have absolutely no ability to get their kids out of LA County Detention Facilities unless and until a judge says so. OR the Probation Department releases them under Government Code 8658.”

5. What you can do is call your representative at the LA County Board of Supervisors and let them know you hear what’s going on with vulnerable kids getting sick at LA County juvenile facilities and they need to get some answers from.the Probation Deparrment.
