The @SecretService has convinced federal prosecutors to issue a federal grand jury subpoena to unmask an anonymous Twitter user for a tweet that is not even remotely plausibly a true threat against anyone.

I’ve written the federal prosecutors and the agent appealing to reason and the better angels of their nature. For now, as a gesture of good faith, I will keep the specifics confidential in hopes they will act reasonably and with respect for First Amendment rights . . . .
