1st in-person @UWSystem Board of Regents meeting since February, I think. Regent President @drewpetersenwi & @RayWCross exchanged an elbow bump but I was not quick enough to take a screenshot.

Some board members called in instead of meeting at Van Hise Hall.

Regent Klein asks about lack of mask requirement as part of System guidelines to campuses.

Cross: "The question is if you use the word & #39;require& #39; how do you police that? If we say require, what is the punishment?"

It& #39;s unclear to me if any UW campuses are going to recommend instead of requiring masks.

I haven& #39;t seen that in any of the plans I& #39;ve read, though I also haven& #39;t gotten around to reading all 13 plans.

. @UWEauClaire chancellor: Students supply own masks. Employees get 2. Everyone gets a thermometer and inputs data into an app. Masks required inside & recommended outside.

@UWStevensPoint chancellor: Masks are required & it& #39;d be "helpful" for Regents to take a position.

Cross on cost of PPE & testing: *preliminary* estimate is in excess of $50M. Submitting $ request to @GovEvers tomorrow.

Still working on many testing ?& #39;s. How often, which groups, asymptomatic vs. only those w/ symptoms. Considering batch testing to reduce cost.
