My takeaway from the whole J Cole and Noname situation is that it& #39;s just unfortunate how easily we get distracted.
I don& #39;t consider the songs or the "beef" to be a distraction. They& #39;re important convos. The distraction is in why this happened in the first place

Noname calls out rappers like J Cole for being silent. Cole responds to the critizsm, rather than the situation, first.
They both focused on the wrong things, but neither of them where completely wrong either.

It& #39;s just unfortunate that a tweet from J Cole at the time when this all started would& #39;ve spared him from critizsm. Why do we even police people& #39;s responses to begin with? Especially from people like Cole who bring these issues to the forefront even when they aren& #39;t trending
Same with Chappelle and Kendrick. We know where they stand. They address police brutality and injustice consistently.
Yet it& #39;s a problem if they don& #39;t make a statement within 48 hrs when something that happens all the time finally trends again in the media.

It just seems to me like maybe instead of focusing on the response of "X" famous person, we should focus on how we can keep a spotlight on these issues. Let people think and respond at their own time, and those that respond should respond to the issues first
