He has plainly asked aloud what this knee business is about. He referred to discussing with his wife whether he went down on one knee to propose. You can picture it - “why are they doing it? Are they proposing?” , “You didn’t when you proposed”, etc 2/

But having questioned it, having found a worldwide symbol of protest and realising he did not know anything about it, he did not Google it. “I appear to be ignorant about a thing, so that’s fine.” That’s terrifying, in and of itself. But. /3

The cabinet, PM and all ministers will have had briefing papers about taking the knee. Police officers, riot theory, BLM in other countries, they’ll all have been in briefing papers with the purpose of the knee explained therein. He hasn’t read them, has he? 4/

He has been given information about protests that began in the USA, which enraged the US president, which is symbolic and infectious (and when coppers do it, controversial) and he ignored it. At a time when he is personally responsible for our relations with the world. 5/

That Raab is thick is obvious. That he does not care he is thick I s bad, but that he’s happy to be *intentionally* ignorant about an international protest when he is the Secretary of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office is NOT FUCKING CRICKET, IS IT?
