TIME TO RUFFLE SOME RESIN BONG ARTISTS FEATHERS. A THREAD
THERE ARE "AMERICAN" COMPANIES IN AMERICA THAT SELL IMPORT GLASSS. THEY CAN EVEN AND MOST TIMES CLAIM ITS AMERICAN MADE. BUT GUESS WHAT. IMPORT
RESIN BONGS AND RIGS ARE NOT SAFE TO USE
SLAPPING STICKERS ON A $10 BONG FROM DHGATE, COVERING IT IN RESIN AND SELLING IT FOR FOR HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IS A RIP OFF AND A SLAP TO THE FACE OF YOUR "SUPPORTERS"
FOOD GRADE EPOXY RESIN DOES NOT MEAN ITS SAFE TO SMOKE OUT OF
According to https://sciencing.com/effects-high-temperature-epoxy-8590977.htmlThe "temperature at which heat distortion occurs ranges between 20 and 90 degrees Celsius (68–195 F). As temperature increases, a significant amount of the flexural and compressive strength of epoxy decreases." EPOXY BEGINS TO DEGRADE AT 68-195
IF YOU DONT THINK YOUR LIGHTER OR TORCH CAN GET THAT HOT YOURE WRONG AND IGNORANT. HAVE YALL NEVER FELT A GLASS RIG NEAR THE JOINT AFTER HEATING UP YOUR BANGER. TYPICALLY TOO HOT TO TOUCH
SO WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT HEAT WONT AFFECT THE RESIN COVERED BONG/RIG AND BEGAN THE DEGRADITION PROCESS
Ive looked into this topic many times in the past couple years due to the influx of artists making resing bongs and at the end of the day polyepoxide is not meant to be near an open flame nor smoked out of. So take that as you will and use at your own risk
Me personally im educated well enough to know plastics (polymer) and open flames do not mix and would never used a resin bong. Polyepoxides are used for aircraft and automobile parts, windmills and many other things BUT SMOKING DEVICES AINT ONE OF THE USES
With that being said. If you truly care about your customers And supporters health More than your profit margins you wouldnt make smoking devices outta epoxy. And thats that
The truth is. This is a hard topic to research as there isnt alot of data out there on this specific subject as epoxies were never made to be smoked out of. I just hope some of yall care more about yourselves than to put your future self at risk to use something thats "cute"
