This is the last thing I will say about #Da5Bloods ...When films like The Departed come out, people obsess over references/homages to The Third Man, & the shadows/X's behind characters as foreshadowing, etc...Why aren't we doing the same for this hauntingly timely film? (a thread)

Mr. Delroy Lindo striking the "Platoon" pose in a blink or you missed reference (foreshadowing?), Da Bloods having to go back to Vietnam offers a striking contrast to Private Ryan taking his family to his Captain's grave at Arlington...
Heck, one can even suggest the MAGA hat can be the equivalent of the famous boots from All Quiet on The Western Front. It is among Mr. Lee’s truth telling through powerful imagery, absence of a white savior and honest music that bring me back to the reality of today...
A film study becomes a searing review of today and yesterday but I pray not tomorrow. Maybe someone sees this. Maybe it gets lost in the twitterverse. But, I felt this film needed the same scrutiny afforded to other films. To Mr. Lee, Cast and Crew, much respect. (end of thread)
